About Empathy First

Empathy First Mission Statement:

With Empathy First, we provide evidence-based, client-centered, clinical counseling and consulting services to empower people to overcome the stigma of mental healthcare.

Our Founder:

After providing a range of direct client care from community recovery services for homeless individuals in Austin, Texas; earning his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of Texas; and treating acutely psychotic patients at an inpatient hospital as a graduate student, Max Arzola, LCSW-S utilized his Master's Degree from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work to treat diverse clients in the Houston area. From adolescent group counseling to newly diagnosed HIV-positive patients, Max Arzola, LCSW-S recognized the need for a purposeful type of treatment; one that validates the clients' experiences and empathizes with their specific situations.

Our Approach to Treatment:

The professional-level services provided to individuals, couples, families, as well as community groups, businesses, and organizations use an innovative team approach while collaborating and training clinicians who value the latest developments and techniques from evidence-based academic research and client-centered care practices. The innovative approach is like none other, normalizing the experience of receiving quality mental healthcare services for all to appreciate.
