Empathy First Clinical Counseling and Consulting is a client-centered mental health practice dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals, families, and groups. Our team of licensed clinicians is committed to creating a welcoming and affirming environment where every client feels seen, heard, and supported. We are growing, and we are looking for a dedicated, skilled, and mission-aligned Pre-Licensed Master’s Level Clinician to join our team and build a meaningful caseload within a supportive clinical community.

Position Overview

The Associate Child Clinician will provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy services under the clinical supervision of our LCSW-S, in accordance with Texas law and BHEC requirements. This is an independent contractor (1099) position offering flexibility, structured supervision toward full licensure, and a collaborative practice environment. This role is ideal for a newly licensed LMSW or LPC Associate who is motivated to develop their clinical identity, grow a caseload, and work toward independent licensure in a values-driven setting.

• Clinical Services

  • Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions to a growing caseload of clients

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans

  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA, practice policy, and ethical standards

  • Collaborate with the clinical team on case consultation, referrals, and care coordination

• Supervision & Compliance

  • Participate in regular clinical supervision with the Practice’s LCSW-S as required by Texas BHEC

  • Maintain active LMSW or LPC Associate licensure in good standing throughout the term

  • Promptly report any changes in licensure status, complaints, or disciplinary actions to Practice leadership

  • Maintain professional liability insurance with minimum coverage

• Professional Development

  • Make good-faith efforts to develop and maintain an active caseload, working toward practice benchmarks

  • Pursue continuing education and remain current on ethical and clinical best practices

  • Participate in the broader mission of Empathy First through team communication and collaboration

• Compensation

  • Majority of collected revenue

  • Supervision provided on-site by a BHEC-approved LCSW-S

  • Provided Supervision options available

  • Furnished office space, EHR system access, billing services, insurance credentialing support, and referral assistance provided by the Practice

Qualifications

Required

• • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Counseling, or related field from an accredited program

  • Active LMSW or LPC Associate license in the State of Texas in good standing

  • Commitment to ethical, client-centered, trauma-informed clinical practice

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards

  • Strong organizational skills and timely documentation habits

Preferred

• • Experience or training working with individuals, couples, families, or groups across diverse populations

  • Familiarity with EHR platforms such as SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, or similar

  • Located in or near the greater Houston area

  • Multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
